Mudsock Boys Lacrosse

2024 Spring Season Overview

Please note, continued for 2024, the Mudsock Boys Lacrosse program, for age groups 12U and 14U, will continue the team designations of: an A team and B team. The A Team will be similar to years past that was designated as the “Travel” team and the B team will be similar to the “Rec” team. The team divisions will help our league better align with the designations of other area IYLA teams we compete against. Tryouts for the A team were completed in Summer 2022 for the upcoming season. For players new to the area (within the City of Fishers city limits) who have interest in the A teams, but missed the Summer 2023 tryouts, please reach out to us at [email protected] for further information

Recreational Season Team “B” Overview

Recreational Season Team “B” Description
Practices will start in March and run through May.
All games will be against other IYLA (Indiana Youth Lacrosse Assoc.) teams, so no overnight tournament commitment.
There could be a day trip (Sunday) for game(s) within a 2+/- hour drive.
Costs are all covered as part of your 2023 Mudsock registration fees.
B team coaches will strive to provide equal playing time. Please note, attendance to practices does factor into this, however.

Where will the sessions be held?

Hamilton Proper Park (southeast corner of 116th St. and Hoosier Rd.) for outdoor practices (March – May), Finch Creek Fieldhouse (16289 Boden Road Noblesville) for indoor practices (March) and Cyntheanne Park for home games (12383 Cyntheanne Road).

What gear do I need?
Players are required to attend in full gear which includes a helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, mouthguard, stick and a protective cup.  For all field players, starting January 1, 2022, there is a new equipment rule requiring all players to have updated shoulder pads designed for lacrosse and to meet NOCSAE standard ND200.

What if I want to try out for the Cats Travel “A” Team?
Tryouts for the travel “A” team were completed in August 2023. Athletes that made the A team, will also be offered a spot on the Cats summer team. We recognize that some families will choose to play on other summer clubs, but we want to let everyone know that the Spring A team will become the summer Cats team going into the 2024 summer season. There may be spots that become available going into summer, so our coaches will all work closely and determine if an additional tryout/ evaluation might be held late spring to fill roster spots for the summer teams.

Travel Season Team “A” Description (tryouts completed in August 2022)
Will still have practices starting in mid-January. Will have 1-to-2 overnight, out-of-town Spring tournaments to compete in. There will be additional costs associated with making the A team (turf time costs and tournament registration fees) on top of the 2024 Mudsock registration fees. Overnight travel costs (hotel, meals, transportation, etc.) will be paid by the players parents/ guardians, not by the club. While we strive to get all A team players game time, there is no guarantee of equal playing time.
